Oksana has a degree in Psychotherapy and Spirituality and provides psychoeducational presentations to schools, community organisations, businesses and members of the public.
As the community facilitator at Riseup Society Alberta, Oksana Atwood focuses on creating safer and healthier communities through:
Presentations: free and engaging sessions on mental health, healthy relationships, and preventing intimate partner violence.
Mental Health First Aid Training: Providing community members with tools to recognize and respond effectively to mental health challenges.
Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) Training: Educating others about intimate partner violence dynamics, signs, and prevention strategies.
Healthy Relationship Advocacy: From schools to community groups, promoting healthy relationships that emphasize respect, communication, and boundaries.
Grant Research: Oksana is currently involved in a grant project exploring intimate partner violence in oil and gas-based rural communities in northwest Alberta.
